Oral cancer symptoms
- Appearance of granular or cauliflower-like neoplasms on oral and maxillofacial parts
- Unexplained pain in the tongue, cheeks, teeth, etc.
- Oral or facial ulcers not healing after two weeks
- Unexplained white or red plaques and invasive masses on oral mucosa
Oral cancer risk factors
- Smoking
- Heavy alcohol use
- Chewing tobacco
- Excessive consumption of red meat, processed food and deep-fried food
- Eating too little vegetables and fruit
- Poor oral hygiene
Diagnosis
- Palpation
- Fluorescence dye examination
- Pathological biopsy examination
- Computerized tomography
- Nuclear magnetic resonance scanning
Treatment
Surgical excision, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
